I wish there was a hockey trading card to effectively capture the rejuvenated young man’s eyes set in the face of old grizzly bear Dan Boyle shortly after he scored a fast-break goal tonight in the San Jose Sharks’ victory over Calgary. And he’s certainly seen some rough times to match that veteran’s sandpaper, grey face: i.e. a locker room mishap with a skate that severed multiple wrist tendons, a house fire that broke while he played game one of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals, and doubtless further misfortunes judging by the years of red weather written in his face. . . .
Well this card will have to do for now.
Thanks for the fun, Danny Boy(le).
