Oh, that’s because there’s a fricken’ ice hockey rink in the middle of the baseball diamond. In case you don’t follow hockey in ballparks, this spectacle was all part of the NHL’s much publicized Stadium Series: in short, hockey games played the way they should be–outside. Now granted that outdoor hockey for most of North America isn’t generally played in the kind of balmy evening conditions endemic to L.A., especially with temperatures in the high 50s to low 60s during most of last night’s game. But even as the Kings remained scoreless in an ultimate 0-3 loss to the Ducks, it was still quite a sight to see.
